Level Up: Fellowers not Followers

This leans on my background in psychology and comes from my enjoyment in seeing people grow and learn. I hope doing this adds fun for those who watch and becomes a way to find some fellowship. There’re people behind the screennames, not followers, gotta’ treat each other as such.

Enough of the ooshy gooshy, let’s talk levels. Just like we get upgrades in 7 Days, Heroes, and Crucible you can now upgrade your character using channel points. There are four abilities you can put your points into loosely based on the perks in 7 Days: Perception, Agility (combined with Strength), Resilience (instead of Fortitude), and Intelligence. You’ll get one point for each level with five levels available per ability (examples: level one, level four). Don’t be fooled though, as your level gets higher the quests become more involved and require more channel points. For full deets on how much each level goes for and how to earn points you can check here.

Perception: It’s important to see things as they are. Sifting through information and looking for deeper, hidden meaning isn’t easy. Distractions and preconceived notions mislead us and can influence our little decisions adding up to overall directions. Riddles have a way of leaning on these biases. Practice seeing the forest through the trees by solving brain teasers and answering trivia to upgrade your perception.

Agility: Everyone is at a different place with their physical health but I think it’s safe to say we all have those areas we can keep working on. Some are super stronk while others can run for miles. Still others can do back flips, hit birdies in golf, or hold yoga poses like a pro. Agility quests test your dexterity, balance, and strength but can also revolve around forming healthy habits.

Resilience: This one might be my favorite. I’m most excited to see what people come up with. Resilience, here, speaks to psychological resilience and grit. You’ll exercise your creativity, grow your relationships, and learn about your strengths of character. These quests challenge you to find sources of fortitude within and outside of yourself.

Intelligence: Pretty self-explanatory. Intelligence looks different for each person but we all have it (if it were a “thing” I guess). Sometimes I need help with the math required in building in 7 Days. Other times it’s cool to learn about your interests and those sick facts that we wouldn’t know unless you shared them. Maybe it’s about your favorite animal, history, a book you read, and so on.

Here’s the thing, these upgrades and quests are intended to be personal and therefore flexible. If you have something that you want to do for a certain level let me know. I can’t be responsible for some quests but you do yourself a disservice if you’re not holding yourself accountable. If you upgrade to level five (leaderboard) in each area I’ll gift you a sub (to my channel or to one of your choice). Hopefully there’s also some reward in the journey itself.
